The small Café and Shop situated at the NW end of the Cathedral are open from 10.30am – 3.30pm every week day and are manned by volunteers for the benefit of visitors to the Cathedral.
The Café, offering Fairtrade tea and coffee with a biscuit for 50p, provides an opportunity for a visitor to meet and talk with a member of the team.
The shop stocks a range of religious books, prayer cards and other supportive material as well as CDs produced by the Cathedral Choir, information on the Architecture and the famous Burne-Jones windows. At specific times in the Church’s Calendar, cards and calendars are also stocked along with a range of gifts appropriate to the season.
There are plans to re-site these facilities in 2010 and to upgrade them to provide a wider range of religious material and to sell products in the shop reflecting the many skills of local people, including the famous Jewellery Quarter. Plans and costings are currently being drawn up, so watch this space for regular updates.
