Crossing the Bridge Sculpture Trail
The RBSA is celebrating 200 years from the first public art exhibition by its forerunner, the Birmingham Academy of Arts in 1814. One of the 2014 projects is a Sculpture Trail from the Cathedral to the RBSA Gallery. The Cathedral is very important because of the Burne-Jones windows (a President of the RBSA) and Samuel Lines grave in the churchyard - a founder member and an exhibitor in the first exhibition. There will be about 15 other venues with sculptures in the premises in Church Street, Ludgate Hill and St Paul's, including the Church. There will be a sound sculpture for the footbridge over the Queensway. All the work will be by Members or Associates of the RBSA and most will be for sale.
