Tercentenary Lecture Series: Joseph Chamberlain's Birmingham by Henrietta Lockhart
Continuing our series of tercentenary lectures Henrietta Lockhart, Curator of History at Birmingham Museums will take an object focused look at the Birmingham that Joseph Chamberlain knew.
Joseph Chamberlain changed the face of Birmingham, and throughout his career he never abandoned his commitment to the city. What can we learn about Chamberlain and his Birmingham from objects in Birmingham’s collection? This talk will focus upon a range of objects, from the grand to the quirky, which shed light upon this controversial figure.
The talk does not take place in the cathedral but on the eight floor of 1 Colmore Row, to the left of Waitrose near the entrance to Snowhill Station.
