Birmingham Cathedral is situated in the heart of the business and administrative centre of the city. It seeks to be both a place of peace and stillness in the midst of a busy urban area, and also a living Christian community willing to serve the city in whatever ways it can.

The Cathedral is closely linked with Chaplaincy Plus, an ecumenical Christian initiative, staffed by two experienced lay Christians and supported by all the mainstream churches. Chaplaincy Plus seeks to be a Christian resource and presence to all who work in the business and professional community in Birmingham city centre.

Every Tuesday lunchtime at 13:10 there is an informal half-hour service with address which is primarily aimed at the city centre working community. Lively talks on topical themes with a firm Biblical message are given, and there is an opportunity to meet others informally over lunch beforehand. For further information please contact us.

Believing in Birmingham, a network of Christian churches in the city centre, operates on a sector basis; and one of its key sectors is "Christianity and Work". If you would like to know more about how the city centre churches seek to engage with the world of work, contact the sector leader, the Revd Tom Pyke, vicar of St Paul's Church in the Jewellery Quarter.
