Worship is at the heart of Birmingham Cathedral. The church offers a diverse pattern of worship throughout the week, both contemporary and traditional. Regular services are as follows. Visitors of all ages are very warmly welcome to any services taking place. Please note that times are subject to change throughout the year.

Sunday

  • 9:00 Holy Communion (BCP)
    • A reflective said Communion service
  • 11:00 Choral Eucharist (CW) with healing ministry on the 4th Sunday of the month)
    • The cathedral’s principal Sunday service with choir, sermon and Sunday Clubs for children
  • 15:30 Choral Evensong (BCP)
    • A traditional sung service with hymns and a sermon (said during school holidays)

Monday to Friday

  • 8:00 Morning Prayer and Holy Communion (CW)
    • A short Communion service to start the day (lasts 30 minutes)
  • 12:00 Midday Prayers
    • A simple pause for prayer in the middle of the day
  • 13:10 Wednesday Holy Communion (BCP)
    • A traditional communion service with music and sermon
  • 13:10 Thursday Healing Service (normally 3rd Thursday of the month)
  • 17:45 Evening Prayer (CW) or Choral Evensong (BCP)
    • A reflective service to end the day, sung from the Book of Common Prayer on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Saturday

  • 9:00 Morning Prayer and Holy Communion
    • A short Communion service to start the day (lasts 30 minutes)
  • 12:00 Midday Prayers
    • A simple pause for prayer in the middle of the day
  • 15:30 Evening Prayer
    • A reflective service to end the day
